Reproduction Reflexology

Reflexology to aid fertility

Reflexology is carried out by a therapist who has undertaken further learning within the area of fertility, pregnancy and post natal care.  There are reflexes represented on the feet that are specific to the reproductive organs of both male and female.  The reflexologist firstly looking at reasons why the client isn’t becoming pregnant. The Therapist will look at lifestyle, diet, exercise to see if stress is playing a part; if so, a reflexology treatment can work wonders on creating a relax and calm person, who will find it easier to deal with the demands of life and enjoy their downtime.

Hormones play a major part in getting pregnant and if you suffer with an imbalance which you may know nothing about it could be sabotaging your chances of conceiving.

The endocrine system includes all of the glands of the body and the hormones produced by those glands. The glands are controlled directly by stimulation from the nervous system as well as by chemical receptors in the blood and hormones produced by other glands. By regulating the functions of organs in the body, these glands help to maintain the body’s homeostasis.

Reflexology will stimulate the endocrine system to ensure that hormones are released at the right time and over time help to balance the menstrual cycle so that periods and ovulation occurrence is regulated.

Reflexology

Using different techniques, the reflexologist will stimulate the ovaries and uterus to improve blood flow. To ensure that this area is as healthy as possible to allow fertilisation.  Reflexology will also detect problems in the lower back such as sciatica and lumbar pain. Releasing this can remove energy blockages to help conception. Reflexology can help with irregular periods, dysmenorrhoea; painful periods, Menorrhagia: heavy periods, Oligomenorrhoea; scant periods or Amenorrhoea; no periods. Also symptoms of Premenstrual syndrome can be eased with regular reflexology.

Males & Fertility

Stress can play a large part in male fertility as it can with women. Working long hours, excessive or no exercise, bad diet and worries will all play a part in a man’s performance of successful conception.

Having reflexology treatments together with your partner will help with the bonding as you go on this new journey together. Knowing you are by her side will relax your partner, changing patterns and adding in the benefits of reflexology will encourage the systems of the body to come together and ease the stress involved with unidentified infertility.

Some of the known causes of infertility in men are Azoospermia (lack of sperm present in the semen). Smoking (over 20 a day) has been found to reduce sperm count and sperm motility. Excessive alcohol drinking will also lead to infertility, due to the fact that alcohol lowers the production of the male hormone testosterone and the production of sperm. During a recent research study, Oligospermia (low sperm count) the mens’ sperm count had increased from 1% to 8% in one month after having 5 reflexology sessions and taking Vitamin E tablets, in addition to taking both Folic Acid and Zinc tablets. The male reproductive hormones reduces by 5% every year once it has reached its peak.
